The Charleston Shucker Co. was founded in 2007 by native South Carolinians and oyster lovers settling into life in the low country. What started with a search for the perfect Christmas gift, [an engraved, high quality oyster knife that works as well as it looks], led to the establishment of a new online venture. After creating the Original Shucker, a home grown business was born.

Word traveled fast throughout the US and articles were published raving about this “unique and personal gift”. New products were added and business grew with each passing year. In 2010, founder Lindsey Ballenger, left full-time work as a non-profit Director of Development to be a full-time Momtrepreneur, balancing the daily demands of raising two small children, running a business and helping other moms realize their dreams as Work At Home Moms.
